RICHMOND, Va. (Feb. 8, 2022) – The February 17 game between Towson and UNCW has been selected for the second Wild Card matchup of the Colonial Athletic Association’s men’s basketball television package on CBS Sports Network. Towson and UNCW will square off at 6 p.m. at Trask Coliseum in Wilmington.
The contest between the Tigers and Seahawks matches up the top two teams in the CAA standings through February 7. The teams played an overtime thriller in Maryland in January with UNCW prevailing, 81-77, as part of a 12-game winning streak that spanned December and January.
UNCW has soared to the top of the CAA standings at 10-2 after opening conference play 9-0. The Seahawks, picked ninth in the preseason poll, have already won their most CAA games since UNCW’s 2017 NCAA Tournament team.
Towson has also exceeded preseason expectations, as the team picked eighth in October is second in the conference at 8-3. The Tigers are the CAA’s top team in the NET rankings and their eight road victories this season rank in the top 10 nationally.
CBS Sports Network will carry three more regular season contests in February before serving as the home for the CAA Championship semifinals and final in March.
