U.S. stock indexes wavered, with stocks pointing toward a downbeat start to June after capping a volatile trading month.
The S&P 500 was recently down 0.2%, with all three major U.S. indexes handing back morning gains. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was off about 0.2%, while the technology-focused Nasdaq Composite was about flat.
