Financial institution lending rises for the third straight week

The numbers: Complete financial institution lending rose to $12.1 trillion within the seven days ended April 19 from $12.09 trillion within the prior week, the Federal Reserve mentioned Friday. That is the third straight weekly achieve.

Deposits at banks rose barely to $17.20 trillion from $17.18 trillion within the prior week. They’re down from $17.26 over the previous month.
